Subscription Terms & Conditions
By subscribing to The Big Issue magazine you agree to the following terms and conditions:
The Big Issue will supply a magazine to your nominated delivery address in accordance with the length of subscription you have purchased (25 magazines for a 12 month subscription or 50 magazines for a 24 month subscription). Magazines will be delivered on a fortnightly basis, in accordance with each new edition released by The Big Issue.
The subscription price for each magazine will be $5 plus delivery charges of $1.20 per magazine within Australia. The total subscription price is $155.00 for 12 months and $310.00 for 24 months for Australian subscribers. Overseas subscribers will be required to pay the following charges for delivery outside of Australia to reflect our additional postal costs:
Asia/Pacific region: the subscription price for each magazine will be AUD$5 plus delivery charges of AUD$4 being a total subscription price of AUD$225.00 for 12 months and AUD$450.00 for 24 months; and
Rest of the world (excluding Australia and Asia Pacific region): the subscription price for each magazine will be AUD$5 plus delivery charges of AUD$5 being a total subscription price of AUD$250.00 for 12 months and AUD$500.00 for 24 months.
You are responsible for providing correct and accurate delivery details for the postage of the magazines throughout the duration of your subscription and must notify The Big Issue if any of your details change. The Big Issue is not liable for any errors that you make or any failure by you to notify The Big Issue of any changes to your delivery address.
Please allow 21 days for the delivery of the first magazine of your new subscription. Subsequent magazines will be delivered within Australia during the “on sale” dates printed on the cover of each edition of the magazine and contained on The Big Issue Website http://womens.thebigissue.org.au/Data/Page/00000085/Magazine-On-Sale-Dates-Final-17-09-10.pdf. Please do not hesitate to contact The Big Issue if you have not received your subscription within these “on sale” dates.
If you want to cancel your subscription, you can do so at any time. You will receive a refund for the magazines that we have not yet sent to you. Your refund will be paid to the credit card used to purchase the original subscription. If the credit card is no longer valid (eg, it has expired) a cheque payment will be issued. The cheque will be sent to the delivery address that you provided to The Big Issue. Please note that it takes up to 5 days to process a subscription cancellation so, depending on the timing of your cancellation request, you may receive one additional magazine after you send a cancellation request and this additional magazine will be included in the calculation of your refund as a magazine sent. A reasonable administration fee may also be charged and deducted from your refund to cover any credit card fees for processing the refund or for posting a refund cheque.
These subscription terms and conditions shall be governed exclusively by Australian law, and the Courts of Australia shall have exclusive jurisdiction to determine any matters relating to these subscription terms and conditions.
You provide your consent to the receipt of emails, direct mail and telephone calls from The Big Issue directly relating to your subscription.
You also provide your consent to the receipt of direct marketing communication activity from The Big Issue containing information and offers about products and services available on The Big Issue website. These communications may be made through any medium including telephone, email and other electronic communications. We acknowledge and respect an individual’s choice to subsequently opt-out of The Big Issue's direct marketing communications activities. Should you decide that you do not wish to receive marketing or promotional materials from The Big Issue please contact us in writing (via email, fax or letter) using the contact details set out below, being sure to include your name, address and contact detail(s), or as directed in any particular promotional material you may receive.

You acknowledge that these subscription terms and conditions may be modified from time to time. Any changes to the total subscription price (subscription price or delivery charges) shown in clause 2 from time to time will only become applicable to existing subscribers upon renewal of their subscription. Any changes to the subscription terms and conditions will be shown on our website, together with the date on which the new terms and conditions become effective. If you do not accept the changes to the terms and conditions, you may notify us and cancel your subscription in accordance with clause 5.
You declare that you are over 18 years of age, or if you are not over 18 years of age that you have parental consent to make this subscription purchase.
